The Row’s crazy expensive alligator backpack is selling like hotcakes

As is probably to be expected of anything that’s received as much press attention as this little bag has, naturally.

The Huffington Post is reporting that The Row’s $34,000 black alligator backpack has sold out, but that appears to be the result of a misinterpreted quote that one of the Olsen sisters gave to Women’s Wear Daily during a party for their newly launched handbag line in Paris. My suspicion is corroborated by the fact that Net-a-Porter still has the bag in stock well after its debut, but the point still stands – people are buying this bag. Who are they? As always, I have a few theories.

I have to be honest---shoes this seaon were kind of a let down. My stand-by favorites like Ann Demeulemeester and Dries van Noten and Celine didn't deliever at all. An exception to this would be Prada & Miu Miu.. Miuccia is never afraid to have fun with the shoes.

Kind of a naughty show girl vibe at Miu Miu with the spectator & butterfly lace up details. The lime green version is my favorite. I do have one gripe with a pair of shoes at Prada....

The baroque leather bootie would have been a solid 10 if it wasn't for that horrible gimmicky espadrille & foam platform. I made a helpful diagram here to illustrate my point. What a tease--because if you changed the ugly platform to a beautiful solid leather wedge this would be the best shoe of the season for me.

I am praying Prada had the good sense to make an all leather variation of this shoe for retail.

These shoes at Prada were amazing though--the checkered woven platform cutie is high on my wishlist.

Chin Up, Walk Tall

They are mighty tall, and I walked around them for a while thinking that I should probably return them because they're so tall. Except they're so awesome so I'm not going to return them.

Yes. They will be here tomorrow. Wonderful Guess "Maeve" boots. Kind of gothic but I can't wait to wear it with my chiffon dress with tights and leg warmers, a black blazer, and some crazy coloured scarf.

Pretty badass!

My mom and I both went crazy for these shoes when we saw them in a Barney's email-we were in Tokyo at the time, and we both immediately reserved ourselves a pair.

My mom went into Dallas tonight and she picked up our Miu Miu boots while she was there-I was freaking out when I pulled them out of the box. Because they're a billion times cuter in real life than I ever thought they could be.

Soooo because I was so excited about these shoes I just hopped up on the nearest table (or in the case of our home, a tree stump) and snapped these babies!!!
Well?? What would you have done???!!
